Overload privacy policy
Effective October 30, 2026 · Overload · Support
Short version: everything you log stays on your iPhone and Apple Watch. We don't collect it, see it, sell it or share it.
Who we are
Overload is made by ApexScience. Questions about this policy: overloadapexscience@gmail.com.
What we collect
Nothing. Overload has no account, no servers, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it doesn't connect to the internet. We never receive your workouts, your health data or anything about you.
Data stored on your device
The workouts, exercises, sets, notes and settings you enter are stored in the app on your iPhone. The Apple Watch app keeps a copy of your workout list and the workout in progress, sent directly between your iPhone and watch. This data is included in your iPhone's backups, under your control.
Apple Health
With your permission, Overload reads from Apple Health:
- heart rate and active energy, to show them for your workouts;
- resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep and VO2 max, for a readiness check and fitness trends;
- weight, lean body mass and body fat percentage, to show body composition alongside strength;
- workouts, to match your sessions with what your watch recorded.
It writes your workouts to Apple Health as strength training, with their duration, calories and heart rate, so they count in Fitness and your activity rings.
Health data is read on your device and used only to show it to you. It is never sent anywhere, never used for advertising, and never shared with anyone. Each permission is optional; you can change them any time in the Health app under Sharing → Apps → Overload.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Overload may notify you on your iPhone when a workout starts on your Apple Watch. Notifications are created on your device; no notification service is involved.
Exporting and deleting
You can export your workout history to a file and choose where to save or share it. Settings → Delete all data removes everything Overload has stored on your iPhone; deleting the app does too. Workouts saved to Apple Health stay there until you delete them in the Health app.
iCloud
Overload doesn't use iCloud today. If a future version adds iCloud sync, your data will be stored in your own private iCloud account, which we can't access, and this policy will be updated first.
Children
Overload isn't directed at children under 13, and since we collect no data, we collect none from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the effective date above.
